Communicating With Teachers

Parent/Teacher Communication

There is a strong correlation between successful learning outcomes for students and positive partnerships between teachers and parents. Our teachers welcome communication and collaboration with parents and community members to support students’ learning and wellbeing. If you need to make an appointment to meet with your child’s class teacher or support teacher, or to communicate important information, the best way is by emailing the school office: stanmore-p.school@det.nsw.edu.au or complete our online Teacher Meeting Request form.

Please be mindful of the volume and frequency of email communication with teachers. Managing a high volume of emails can impact on the time they have to prepare programs and assess students’ progress.

Teachers are usually able to have a brief exchange in the playground before or after school, but please be aware that they are not able to engage in a detailed conversation when supervising their class or on playground duty. Please make an appointment to see them at a time when they can give you their full attention, and do not have duty of care for students.
